Makerspace Craft Blog #1 – All Things DND

Welcome to the first UWT Library Makerspace craft blog! In this blog series, you’ll find all sorts of cool ideas and inspirations for whatever your next project may be, attempting to showcase the full scope of the many tools we provide for free to UWT students (and some for non-students too!)

What better way to kick this series off than a ubiquitous tabletop RPG with rich potential for craft projects, Dungeons and Dragons. We started out with the modest goal of finding good beginner DND projects utilizing the tools we offer, and ended up exceeding our goal with too many great crafts to show them all, an incredibly successful and now recurring miniature figure painting event, and a short one-shot campaign run entirely in the Makerspace!

See our Tiktok video to see our showcase!

Some highlights of the DND crafts are as follows:
Laser Cutter – Dungeon Master Screen, Dice Tower, “Quest Board.”
Poster Printer – Printed DND Maps.
3D / Resin Printer – DND Mini Figurines, DND Dice Holders.
Sewing Machine – Dice Bags.

The mini one-shot campaign was a great point for all of these crafts to come together. If you’re wanting to start making custom things for your own DND campaign, feel free to come by and ask how anything here was made! And of course, if you’re interested in learning how to paint mini figurines, you should definitely check out our Miniature Painting event!
